TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE

Implementation on Cardano (V2.1 legacy)
The V2.1 Beta is built on Cardano, which uses a Bitcoin-like asset model called "extended unspent transaction output" (eUTXO). UTXO is equipped with arbitrary data, and locking scripts access the input data ("redeemer") plus the entire transaction. Unique LP tokens lock in eUTXO with the liquidity in the pool, enforced by a validator script.
Automated Market Maker (AMM)
Standard x·y=k AMM formula. In the V2.1 Beta, Astarter leverages Cardano eUTXO deterministic behavior and the Plutus Application Framework (PAF) for routing and sequenced transaction driver contracts. This approach alleviates front running and mitigates impermanent loss and slippage tradeoffs.
Arbitrary Token Trading Pairs
Pairs can use ADA, stable assets, or LP-defined assets as the currency. ADA as the currency strengthens liquidity. Tradeoffs can be mitigated by over-collateralized LP-defined stable assets backed by ADA reserves and Astarter's ADA combined AMM order-book liquidity protocol.
Swaps
Astarter swaps let users buy asset A with asset B by adopting a feature that allows users to receive and use assets prior to payment. The smart contract completes payment during cross-chain or regular transfers.
